Summary: A powder produced by mechanical fragmentation (Too Down) followed by hydration decryption of a micro linked steel and TiB2 (99%) ceramics powder, samples of an unprecedented composite with Steel (88%) / Ceramic (12%) mass ratio were synthesized by the spark plasma sintering technique. The composite samples produced were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy using EBSD, X-ray diffraction and optical microscopy. The analysis revealed that the composite presented particles with nanometric grains size and high hardness.
