Welcome to the Graduate Program in Mechanical Engineering (PPGEM) at UFES.
The PPGEM/UFES holds strong and undeniable regional leadership as a provider of human resources, developing high-quality scientific and technological research, and enhancing the level of professionals in the Espírito Santo industry to equip them to tackle and solve industrial problems and challenges faced by major local companies.
The PPGEM/UFES is being reinforced in the following aspects to ensure quality consolidation:
i. In the formation and integrated action of the faculty
ii. In the quality and relevance of the research lines
iii. In the growth of scientific productivity
iv. In the integration with regional and national industry
v. In the interaction with other centers in Brazil and abroad
The program is headquartered in Vitória-ES, offering a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering since 1996 and a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering since 2016, and maintains an academic qualification profile certified by CAPES, having received a rating of 4 in the latest evaluation.
The PPGEM-UFES has graduated 334 master’s students and 28 doctors from 1998 to 2023. Over 90% of alumni are working in engineering companies, continuing in academia, or engaged in teaching activities. Among the 217 master’s graduates since 2011, at least 30 are pursuing or have pursued a PhD (14% of the sample). Of those 30, 18 are currently professors at universities.
The program is based in Vitória-ES, offering the course of Master's in Mechanical Engineering since 1996 e the course of PhD in Mechanical Engineering since 2016 and has an academic qualification profile certified by CAPES, receiving 4 on its last evaluation.
The program already has 267 masters and 25 doctors and counts with 113 students regularly enrolled, being 66 in the masters and 47 in the doctorate.
